MR-403 · RI-808 … RI-813 · text _house-rules.js
The house rules are written out, not configured (Paul, 2026-09-15): “It’s one of our standardized Markdown editors where we can just write out the rules. And they’re used in a prompt.” It is the same rich text editor over Markdown as an account’s Compliance section, with a Save. They live in Settings because they apply to every channel (RI-807).
The brief for this round proposed separate lists per tier, verb lists, a try-a-sentence checker and a change history. Paul: “much too complicated” (RI-810).
The claim gate used to run a pattern checker from references/claim-rules.yml. It is retired: the check is always an AI call reading this text, and its word lists are written into the text in plain words (RI-809, RI-811). A separate list of never-allowed words, checked by a program, was considered and left out; it is added only if a check ever misses a word this text lists, and it would be global only (RI-813).
The text is _house-rules.js. The account screen’s View house rules shows it read-only and links here; it held a hand-typed summary of the same rules until this round. Its first contents are references/compliance-rules.md, rewritten as rules for a prompt.
In the mockup a save lasts until the page closes and does not reach the account screen.
