spine step 0–1 · intake

Two things make a product a product: a brand and a name. Everything else — the source formula and every physical fact it owns, the ingredient list, images, the barcode, how it sells — is optional, arrives whenever it arrives, and becomes a line on the readiness panel afterwards. The screen is laid out as though you were going to fill it all in, because most of the time you are. Stepped is the chosen shape; the one-canvas variant is kept beside it only while the comparison is still useful. The stepped variant carries a third column that accumulates as you go — the only place a stepped layout can show the whole record at once.

Layout Stepped — chosen. The one-canvas variant is still in the file; whether it can be deleted is an open decision, and it lives in the Screens panel with the others.
